OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD FACILITIES - RIVER PARK TRACK
Set on the banks of the north branch of the Chicago River, River Park seems miles away from the urban environment that surrounds it. Northside College Prep shares this phenominal facility for daily practices and meets with North Park University.
River Park Track is an NCAA, eight-lane, 400 meter track. The rubberized track surface makes for blazing fast times and helps prevent injuries.
The Track facility includes a High Jump Pit, Pole Vault Pit, Long Jump runways, and seperate areas for Shot Put and Discus.
In addition to River Park Track, Northside College Prep also features its very own Discus cage, and Shot Put cage directly behind the school, next to O'Connor field.
Hanson Stadium is the site of the Mustangs home meet, the Eric Nelson Track & Field Classic. The meet honors Northside All time greats Eric Nelson, Wesley Laytham, Mac Melto, Josh Williams, Patrick Brennan, Simon Kafka, Maria Torres, Veronica Schwartz, Deja Lindsey, Aliyah Jervier, and Kristen Wojcik. It takes place on Wednesday, April 1, 2015.
