Posted by Jon Gordon on Mar 20 2009 at 05:00PM PDT
On Friday, April 3, 2009, the Northside College Prep Men and Women Track & Field Teams and Northside Track Parents will be having a TEAM Pasta Party following practice, in the Northside Cafeteria, from 6 pm - 7:00 pm. Villa Palermo Catering will provide the Mustangs with Grilled Chicken Penne Pasta, Chicken Alfredo Pasta, Penne Pasta with Marinara, Fresh Bread, Garden Salad, and bottled water. All expenses are 100% paid by the Northside Track & Field Coaching staff.

The Pasta Party will be a great morale booster and provide the Mustangs with proper nutrition for the Mustang Classic, and provide Northside parents with extra energy to help out with our home meet on Saturday, April 4, 2009.

The Mustang Classic is the first HOME meet in the history of Northside College Prep, and features Mather (Men & Women), Taft (Men & Women), Steinmetz (Women), Urban Prep (Men), and host Northside College Prep (Men & Women). The meet will be scored on three levels, Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Sophomore-Freshman division. Team Trophies will be awarded to the top four teams on the Varsity level, and Team Trophies will also be awarded to the top two teams on the Junior Varsity and Sophomore-Freshman levels.

USA Track & Field Gold Medals will be awarded for first place at the Mustang Classic, in every event on all three levels (Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Sophomore-Freshman). Track & Field Engraved Silver Medals will be awarded for second place on all three levels (Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Sophomore-Freshman). Track & Field Engraved Bronze Medals will be awarded for third place and fourth place on the Varsity level. Engraved Medals will also be awarded for first through fifth place on the Varsity level for the 3200m run, 800m run, and the Mile. "Goodie Bags" will also be provided to all athletes in the meet by Universal Sole. The meet will be scored on the following point scale for individual events: 6-4-3-2-1, and 6-4-2 for Relays.

Please feel free to bring friends and family to the Pasta Party who are interested in volunteering to help us with our home meet on April 4, 2009. No experience is necessary. We will teach you everything you need to know at the Pasta Party, to help out as a timer (16 timers needed), hurdle crew (12 people needed), and/or a score keeper (10 score keepers needed). We need as many volunteers as possible to make this meet a success. Please email Jongordon9@aol.com in advance, if you can help out with our home meet. Thanks.

At the conclusion of the Pasta Party, Northside parents and volunteers will meet with Northside Head Coach Jon Gordon for meet assignments, training, and equipment distribution (stop watches). Northside Track T-shirts will be given to all volunteers (while supplies last). THANKS.
