Northside Freshman Charlie Mesimore runs 3:29.00 1200m personal record to help the Mustangs break Distance Medley Relay School Record!

 On Saturday, March 29, 2008, Northside Freshman Charlie Mesimore, Junior Simon Vecchioni, Junior Eric Nelson, and Sophomore Cuitlahuac Pineda Youniss broke the SCHOOL RECORD in the Distance Medley Relay at the Illinois Prep Top Times Invitational with a time of 11:25.65. Charlie Mesimore was the first Northside Freshman to ever compete at Illinois Prep Top Times (Indoor State), and was also one of the only Freshman athletes in the meet. Prior to the meet, Northside Head Coach Jon Gordon gave Freshman Charlie Mesimore goal splits of 70 seconds per quarter to run a 3:30 1200m split on the lead off leg of the Distance Medley Relay to put the Mustangs in position to break the School Record. Charlie Mesimore came through big for the Mustangs. He ran his first 200m in 33 seconds, and then ran the second 200m in 35 seconds for a 400m split of 68. Freshman Charlie Mesimore ran the next 200m in 34 seconds for a 600m split of 1:42. Mesimore ran the next 200m in 36 seconds for an 800m split of 2:18. Charlie Mesimore then ran the next 200m in 36 seconds for a 1000m split of 2:54. Freshman Charlie Mesimore then ran his final 200m in 35 seconds for a personal best 1200m split of 3:29.00!  imageimageimage
