Dear XC Parents and Runners,
With EBAL Championships just around the corner, the season is nearing its end, but we still have a few fun activities left. Here's the latest news round up.
Photo Day is Wednesday
Don't
forget that athletes MUST have their uniforms for the team photo this
Wednesday. Forms were given out at practice and can still be picked up
tomorrow.
Car Wash This Saturday!
The
MVXC car wash is this Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm. All runners are
expected to participate in the washing and ticket selling. The coaches
will explain at practice. We need a few parents to help (no washing, just supervising and handling money). Please sign up if you can help for a few hours.
Mt. SAC Recap
Our travel teams
put in a great effort this past Saturday at the Mt. SAC Invitational in
Southern California. The boys team took home third place medals in their
Div 1 varsity race, while the varsity girls team finished as the 2nd
place D1 team in their "sweeps" race. The JV girls finished a solid 10th
in their race. There were 115 high school races with thousands of
runners from all over the West. See the results page of our team website or XC stats for details.
Team Pasta Feed on Thursday Nov. 6
Please sign up for our potluck "Carbo Load"
the day before our League Championship race. The students will gather
at the tables in the southeast corner of Oak Hill park right after
practice to share a picnic style meal and get pumped up for EBALs on
Friday.
EBAL Championships on Friday Nov. 7
Don't
leave early for the 4 day weekend! We have serious work to do at the
EBAL Championship race at Shadow Cliffs Regional Park on Nov. 7, from
1:00 pm - 4:30 pm. This race is the culmination of the training season
for our team. It will be the last race of the season for the Frosh Soph
and JV teams with team titles awarded. Top 7 F/S & JV will earn
"All-League" honors. Top 14 Varsity are 1st Team and 2nd Team All
League. All races 3.0 miles. We also still need a few parent volunteers to please sign up for a job at the meet.
Save the Date for Team Banquet: Tuesday Dec. 2
Details will be forthcoming, but please save the evening of Tuesday, Dec. 2 for our team's annual banquet and season wrap up.
