Indians Hold On

What looked to be an easy win for the Indians turned dramatic in a hurry.  Carried by the bat of Jacob Baxter who had two doubles in the game, the Indians were up 5-0 in the fifth.  Telfair quickly loaded the bases.  Their left fielder stepped to the plate and deposited a grand slam over the left field fence.  LJ Talley pitched the entire game for the Indians and continued to battle.  Charlton put up one in the 6th and two more in the top of the 7th off a two RBI hit from Richard Dasher and found a way to hold on.  Indians win 8-6.  Complete game win by LJ Talley.  3-0 in Region Play.  10-1 on the season.

REMATCH!!!!

West Nassau gave the Indians their first loss in Suns Stadium a week earlier but they now had to come to Folkston.  The Indians wasted no time in the home half of the first, putting up five runs on the Warriors.  Scott Birchall led the way for the Indians with a double, single, and two RBI's.  Richard Dasher picked up a hit and 2 RBI's in the 4th.  Jesse King got the start for the Indians and pitched 6 strong innings, surrendering only 1 run.  Richard Dasher closed it down on the mound in the 7th.  Indians cruise to a 10-1 victory!  9-1 on the season.

2-0 In Region Play

Charlton was looking for the sweep when they headed to Ocilla to face Irwin County.  Charlton won the first match up between the two earlier in the season by a score of 6-1.   This one would be closer, but Ryan Young was too much for Irwin hitters.  Young went the distance, striking out 4 and only allowing 4 hits on the night.  Jacob Baxter, Joshua Crosby, and Scott Birchall all doubled for Charlton, while the rest of the team helped to rack up 9 hits.  Jacob Popham and LJ Talley each had an RBI.  Charlton wins 5-3 and moves to 2-0 in region play.  8-1 on the season.

Charlton get first loss in the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville

The Indians took a trip an hour south to the the home of the Jacksonville Suns to play West Nassau out of Callahan, Florida.  Last year the Indians got their first loss in this venue, and this year would be much the same.  Although the Indians outhit West Nassau 7-5, they left too many runners in scoring position to push ahead.  Scott Beasley got the start for the Indians and despite striking out 11, the Indians suffered their first loss...5-1.  Charlton moves to 7-1 on the season.

Indians get going early vs Brantley

Ryan Young got the start.  He pitched 3 strong inning striking out 4  and only giving up 1 run before giving way to LJ Talley to finish the game.  The Indians started the game fast with a hit from Jacob Baxter, a walk to LJ Talley, the a double down the 3rd base line from Ryna Young.  The top half of the inning would see the Indians bringing three runner across the plate.  In the 3rd, Richard Dasher and Will Gowen would pick up RBI's.  The Indians stayed infront all night with a final score of 7-3.  LJ Talley gets the win!
