After many mistakes on both sides, the Indians eventually get it done on Presidents day. Jessie King got the start on the hill for the Indians. The home team found themselves down 5-2 in the 4th but due to fielding mistakes by the visiting Lions, the Indians rallied back to score 5 in the 5th on hits from Baxter, Talley and King. Scott Beasley took over for King in the 5th inning stiking out 2 and getting a ground ball for a scoreless half inning. Score was 7-5 after 5. Heritage Christian quickly evened the score up in the 6th and adding one more in the top of the 7th. Down 8-7, Will Gowen got the indians going with a lead walk in the bottom of the 7th. Derek King's sacrifice moved the runner into scoring position. Scott Beasley reached base on a dropped third strike and the Indians had the potential go-ahead run on base. Jocob Baxter was intentionally walked and Joshua Crosby came through with a huge 1 out hit to tie the game at 8. LJ Talley came to the plate a delivered a deep fly ball to left field for the sacrifice fly. Indians WIN! 1-0 on the season. Indians travel to Hilliard Fl. tonight to play the Flashes in the "Border War".
