Walk off (literally)

Posted by Mike Soto on Jun 12 2008 at 05:00PM PDT

Down 3-7, we don't make an out in the home half of the 7th and end it with Pratt taking the walk-off walk to force in Derek Williams from 3rd.   The 7th starts with back-to-back walks to Parkhurst and Cutter.   Lewis forces an error with a bunt that scores Parkhurst from 2nd and newcomer Jared Porpiglia takes a walk as well.   Derek then comes up big with a solid, 2-run single.   Netherly forces yet another error and McClung takes his walk as well, which loaded them for Pratt who starts off 0-2, but fights off a few pitches and waits out the pitcher for his well-deserved free pass to end it.

Daron Williams earns the win in relief of the lefties Kraus and Pearson.   Kraus with 3 K's and 1 runner (almost 2) picked off.   Sloppy game with multiple errors on both sides, but we'll take the ugly win.   Lewis the only one with a multi-hit night as everyone contributed.   Soto with 2 runs, scoring once by himself by causing a balk.   Parkhurst, Lewis, Netherly with RBI's in addition to Derek's 2 and Pratt's BB to win it.   (Final:  8-7 vs. Yorkville)
