The Chicago Demons won both the 17-U and 16-U age divisions this past weekend at the Project Education Plus Chicago National Hoop Invitational. The 17-U Demons defeated the Team Illinois Hawks for the title. Meanwhile, the 16-U Demons topped the Team Supreme Kings to win their title.
In the 17-U title game, Darius Fields (Chicago Von Steuben), who was named MVP, caught fire from beyond the arc late in the game to lead the Demons to a dramatic come from behind win. In addition to Fields, Devin Zajac and Michael Horton (Chicago Von Steuben) were solid all weekend long. Shelton Jackson factored big off the bench.
In the 16-U title game, Charles Golden, who was named MVP, set the pace as the Demons cranked up their high-octane attack to race to the title. Deonte Lundeen, Dion Thompson and Cordarrel Eldridge were solid through the weekend for the Demons.
