Jaguars Edge Invaders 9-7

Posted by Larry Mills on Jun 11 2005 at 05:00PM PDT
Once again, the Jaguars' kicking game proved to be the difference. In a tight defensive battle, a Jags' field goal provided them with victory. The Jags' lone touchdown came on a 35 yard post pattern. At first it appeared that the pass would be intercepted, but the Invaders' defensive back Gregory Bryant was a step late. Bryant attempted to jar the ball loose, but the Jags' receiver held on and sprinted in the for the score. The Jags' conversion kick was unsuccessful. Eventually, the Invaders created a break, when CB Tony Jeter came up with an interception inside the Invaders' 20 yard line. QB Joseph Chaney Jr., responded with a brilliant drive, capping it off with a 25 yard touchdown pass to Gregory Bryant. The 1-point conversion pass was successful to make the final score 9-7.
