The Invaders defeated the Roughriders 24-21 to finish the regular Spring Season at 4-4. The Invaders scored on their first position on a TD pass from QB Mike Hawkins to BB Marty Jones. The PAT was no good. The RoughRiders struck back on the ensuing drive with a 40 touchdown pass and a successful PAT to take a 7-6 lead. The Invaders scored again when Hawkins hit WR Taurus McGhee with a 40 yard TD strike. Again, the PAT was no good. McGhee also caught a second TD from Hawkins, before halftime. In the second half, Invaders' cornerback Danny Gay intercepted a Roughriders' pass and returned it 35 yards for a TD to give the Invaders a 24-13 lead. After completing a 50 yard pass for a TD, the Roughriders QB ran in for a 2-point conversion and cut the Invaders' lead to 24-21.
