Invaders Nation

The Invaders began the 2006 Camp Springs NIT with 22-0 victory over Players Inc. The first half was a tight defensive battle. Both teams were scoreless, until late in the first half. The Invaders scored first when QB Michael Hawkins hit TE Matthew Anderson with a 2-yard pass at the Players Inc., 12-yard line and Matthews took it in for a score. The 2-point conversion pass was successful from Hawkins to BB Danny Gay to give the Invaders an 8-0 lead. Players Inc., received possession of the ball to begin the second half and turned the ball over on downs. After completing several passes to BB Arthur Anderson, Hawkins connected with BB Danny Gay on a 30-yard post pattern to increase the Invaders' lead to 14-0. The conversion kick by George Wyatt was no good. Players Inc., drove the ball deep into Invaders' territory on their next possession, before Safety Joseph Chaney, Jr., intercepted a deflected pass at the goal line and returned it to the 50 yard line. After completing a 13 yard pass to BB Edward Green, Hawkins hit WR Taurus McGhee on a 37 fly route to put the Invaders up 20-0.
