Bethel Park 6 State College 2

Highlights: Bethel Park played solid defense as they held State College to 1 shot in the first period, and a total of 17 for the game. Tom Whetsel scored the first goal 4 minutes into the game as Bethel scored twice in each period and finished the contest with 38 shots. State College rallied early in the third period with 2 goals to close a 4-0 deficit to 4-2 but Whetsel scored his second goal of the game to dampen State's comeback bid. Gabe Mastracci played a solid game in net for Hawks. Whetsel led Bethel Park with 4 points (2G 2A) and Kenny Loeffler chipped in with 2 goals also. Mike Seifert and Tyler Shipley had the other goals for Bethel.

McDowell 4 Fox Chapel 2

Highlights: Shane Reese scores a hat trick and Sean Perhacs adds a goal for the Trojans.

Canon McMillan 3 North Allegheny 0

Highlights: Brett Oldaker scores the opening goal and the game winner as Ryan Palonis earns the shutout for the Big Macs. Grant Strimmel and Nilan Nagy scores the other goals for Canon McMillan. 

Mt Lebanon 3 Penn Trafford 2 (OT)

Highlights: Chris Cummings scores with 6:13 remaining in overtime to lift the Blue Devils into round 2. Dan Roman and Michael Teta score for Lebo. Carlin Crombie and Chase Keibler score for Penn Trafford who outshoots Lebo 34-30. Travis Lisowski makes a game saving diving stop on Crombie with 1:33 remaining in the third period to keep the score 2-2.

Shaler 6 Bethel Park 2

Highlights: Shaler and Bethel Park battle to a 2-2 tie through two periods as Michael Shipley and Tommy Whetsel score for the Hawks and Brian Stein and Billy Dobson score for the Titans. After killing off a bunch of penalties late in the 2nd period, Shaler storms the Hawks in the 3rd period with four unanswered tallies to earn a convincing 6-2 victory. Shane Shiring scores a pair of goals and Sean McCue and Zac Lynch score for the Titans.   

Mt Lebanon 3 Pine Richland 0  

 Highlights: The Blue Devils goaltender Travis Lisowski continues his fine play in the playoffs with a 33 save performance to oust defending Penguins Cup champs Pine Richland 3-0. James Greeno scores twice and Brooks Behling adds an empty netter for the Blue Devils, who were outshot 33-32 by the Rams.

 Seneca Valley 3, McDowell 2 (OT)

 Highlights:  Brandon Platt scored the hat trick, including the game-winner in overtime, to lead Seneca Valley into the Class AAA semifinals next week. Kaleb Schwab and Sam Jarrett each had two assists, and Seneca Valley goaltender Ryan Schutte stopped 22 of 24 Erie McDowell shots.

Upper St Clair 3 Canon McMillan 2 (OT)

Highlights: Upper St Clair's James DiGangi scores a little over a minute into overtime to give the Panthers a 3-2 overtime win over the Big Macs. Michael Segerdahl and Mitchell Lewis scored for USC and Joe Mottiqua scores both goals for Canon Mac.
