Megan Shea getting it done at NDSU

FARGO, N.D.--Lisa Bue led a group of four players in double figures with a game-high 14 points to lead North Dakota State University to an 81-31 win over Valley City State University on Thursday, Dec. 14, before 772 spectators at the Bison Sports Arena.

North Dakota State (4-4) is scheduled to host San Jose State University (0-10) at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18. The Bison are at the .500 mark for the first time since Dec. 29, 2005. Valley City State (9-2) is scheduled to travel to Sioux Falls University (7-6) on Dec. 16.

NDSU received 53 points off the bench during the evening led by 5-foot-7 Emily Moran, who tallied a career-high 12 points. Six-foot freshman Megan Shea had 10 points in nine minutes of work. Shea hit 2 of 4 from the field -- both three-pointers -- and sank all four free throw attempts.

Brenda Slyt rounded out the Bison double-figure scoring list with 10 points, while Danni Heintzelman snared a team-high nine rebounds.

NDSU led 42-17 at halftime, but Valley City State opened the second half with an 8-2 run to cut the deficit to 19 points with 15:00 left. The Vikings' spurt was sparked by Loni Hall and Mallory Undlin. Hall scored a team-high 12 points, while Undlin just missed a "double-double" with nine points and game-high 11 rebounds.

Katie Dahlen hit a three-point to end the Valley City State threat and spark a Bison 9-2 run.

North Dakota State hit 44.3 percent from the field compared to 25 percent for Valley City State. The Bison held a 45-36 advantage in rebounding. NDSU scored 31 points off of 27 Vikings' turnovers.

Overall, 12 of 14 NDSU players available scored and 11 of the group snared at least one rebound.
