AGM AND AWARDS NIGHT

Top Distance Female and Male: Cross country specific
Top Sprint Female and Male: Indoor and outdoor season
Gord Rusby Award: Gord Rusby was the Burlington Liason Rep and past president; Presented to the individual who best performs at our club meet. This athlete will have his/her name engraved on the Club Trophy (which they can keep for a year and must be returned after their reign) as well they will be given a trophy to keep. (Same format for the Hugh Higgins and Rhoda Swick)
Hugh Higgins Award (Female Sportsmanship): Hugh Higgins was a long time coach of the Club. First coach to have an award named after him. Presented to the junior female athlete who is supportive of team mates and shows enthusiasm and participates regularly.
Rhoda Swick Award: Rhoda Swick is the wife of Bud Swick (one of the original founders of the club). Rhoda was a dedicated partner who helped things run smoothly. When Rhoda passed away this tropy was named in her honour. Presented to the junior athlete who has shown the most improvement over the year.
Bob Stephens Award (Male sportsmanship): Initially coaching and later serving on the Board of Directors, Bob and his wife Sandy, managed our primary fundraising Bingo for 25 years. Presented to the junior male athlete who is supportive of team mates and shows enthusiasm and participates regularly.
Ken Lake Award: Ken Lake was a senior coach and Club builder for many years. Ken and wife Elaine were officials with Athletics Ontario in numerous capacities and Ken, as an internationally recognized starter. Presented to the senior female athlete for sportsmanship.
Jim Warford Award: Jim Warford was one of the founding members of the club. He held many different positions with the Club including head coach and athletic director. Presented to the senior male athlete for sportsmanship.
Pat Warford Award: Patricia Warford was an active participant,secretary,president and wife of Jim Warford. This trophy was named to honour her dedication to the Club. Presented to the senior athlete who has shown the most improvement over the year.
Coaches Awards: These awards are from the coaches, given to athletes who fit no specific catagory but who are recognised for their spirit and endeavour and persuit of the challanges of sport.
