Brick - The Pt. Pleasant Boro hockey season is officially underway, and the Panthers opened up with a thrilling come from behind win over Jackson Liberty to get the first divisional win out of the way quickly. Trailing 2-0 after the first period, the Panthers connected on a power play goal by Gage Klotz just :47 seconds into the second period. Four and a half minutes later, Connor Bokop connected on two goals only :19 seconds apart to give the Panthers the lead.
It remained a one goal game for most of the third period thanks to some great saves by freshman goalkeeper Nate Bissey, but with only 3:50 left on the clock freshman Steven Kovaleski gave the Boro some breathing room with his first varsity goal. As it turns out, Kovaleski's goal was needed, as Jackson Liberty got a late power play goal to climb back within one. After a tense flurry in the Panthers zone and one last big pad save by Bissey, the puck was cleared out of the zone with three seconds remaining to preserve a big 4-3 Panther victory.
