DEA Pounds Lexington Eagles 4-1 To Take Over First Place

Posted by Dale Dubois on Oct 02 2004 at 05:00PM PDT
DEA Bedford Masters took sole possession of first place with a commanding win over the Eagles of Lexington. DEA started with a impressive squad of 15 players but three of the same would have to leave at half time. It seemed impairative that DEA would take a first half lead. However, Lexington would net the first goal on a DEA defensive misque and would hang on to the 1-0 lead into half time. DEA would loose a few of the Bedford Blast Players who were slated to play Peterborough in the NHSC fall match. DEA would come out very strong in the second half, wearing down the Lexington defense. Moments after the kickoff, Mark Major would take a shot from his sweeper position that would rebound off the Lexington keeper. David Crespo would be there to knock in the first of the next DEA's 4 goals. DEA would command control of the ball in the second half and score another quick goal as Crespo would take the ball into the right corner and cross in to Todd Marvell who would finish DEA's 2nd tally. DEA had the momentum now as they applied pressure to the Eagles defense. George W. would fight off a few defenders and find first half keeper, Tom Sadeghi, open in front. Tom would turn the ball and rip home DEA third goal of the match. DEA was in solid command of the match now. The Lexington legs were weary and DEA would take advantage as David Crespo would make another overlap run to the right corner. David, having an outstanding game, would place a perfect cross to the leg of Doug Wolfe. Wolfe would not disappoint and DEA was up 4-1. The DEA defense would hold stong for the remainder of the match to preserve the win that would leap frog DEA over Lexington and the Hurricanes into the #1 spot in the standings. DEA is back home again next Sunday as they take on the Northshore United FC at 8:30 AM at Legacy field. DEA got the best of Northshore as they battled in the season opener down in Merrimac. Note that the game is at 8:30 AM. So be at the field by 8 AM please. We need numbers for this home game. Our affiliate team, the Bedford Pacers will be playing a game following this match against Marblehead. All are welcome to stick around. GREAT WIN DEA !!!!!!
