 Roselea travelled to Perth to face Jeanfield Swifts at the Riverside Stadium. The game had been in doubt on the Friday with large areas of surface water but had dried out throughout the night. Both sides were desperate for the points Swifts for their promotion push and the Roselea for their  relegation battle. The reverse fixture had resulted in a 2-0 win for the Swifts mid December.

ROSELEA: Gray, P Taylor, R Taylor, Collier, Reoch, Whyte, Ross, Rae, Watson, Reid, Kennedy. Subs: Thomson, Brand, Kerrigan, & C Taylor.

Roselea shocked the home team opening the scoring in 3 minutes. Keeper Josh Gray rolled the ball out to Paul Taylor who passed on to Danny Ross he found Dale Reid in the middle of the park and he played a delightful ball to Calum Watson on the edge of the penalty area even with two defenders around him he had the time to turn and shoot high over the keeper into the top right hand corner of the net. 1-0 Roselea.

Two minutes Colliers pass finds Watson who chests the ball down to Reid and his effort goes narrowly past the right hand post.

Almost immediately the Roselea are attacking again with Danny Ross running up the wing beating the defender and his cross is only diverted by the keepers fingertips as Watson was ready to pounce.

9 minutes gone and the Roselea concede a soft goal against the run of play losing possession in their own half with Smith picking up the loose ball running on before finding Holden who beat keeper Gray with a low effort from 10 yards.

Immediately from the kick off Roselea regain the lead Rae finding Watson who runs to the bye line chips a cross over to the back post for Dale Reid to finish with an easy header.2-1 Roselea.

16 minutes chance for Jeanfield Mackie runs past Taylor finds Henderson in the penalty area but blazes wildly over the bar from 15 yards.

In 26 minutes Roselea nearly extend their lead Watson tests the keeper from 20 yards with a low powerful shot the keeper blocks with both hands the ball lands to Collier his effort hits the bar again Watson is quick to react his header is cleared to safety.

Roselea are awarded a freekick on the half hour 22 yards out Colliers effort clears the bar.

Minute later Jeanfield are awarded a freekick 25 yards out Mackie hits straight at keeper Gray.

39 minutes long corner from Mackie lands to Smith but his effort lands into the keepers arms.

Roselea close the first half with a couple of opportunities firstly Ryan Taylors freekick has no takers flashing across the goal then on halftime Reids effort blocked by the keeper who gathers at the second attempt as Watson was closing in.

Second half gets underway with Danny Ross crossing the ball deep into the box and  a Swifts defender clears for a corner. From the resultant kick Rae fires on top of the keeper who flaps at the ball before it is cleared.

49 minutes Ryan Taylor goes in the refs book for a deliberate trip although he didn`t see the player! Mackies effort sails over the heads in the penalty area and out for a goalkick.

As the Swifts are coming more into the game as Danny Ross is next in the refs booked with atrip on Mackie. He picks himself up and his freekick is wasted as two Jeanfield players collide in the box.

58 minutes gone and Jeanfield equalise in controversial circumstances another effort from Mackie is saved by Gray as Henderson collects the ball Roselea players are appealing that the ball has gone out of play ref waves play on the ball is squared along the goal to the backpost where Jamie Reid equalises 2-2.

62 minutes Roselea have a  big shout for a penalty declined as Danny Ross is floored by Whitehead in the area.

Two minutes later Ryan Taylor 25 yard freekick tests the keeper the high powerful shot straight at the keeper palmed over the bar. From the Raes cornerkick Whyte rises above everyone but his header unable to hit the target.

A letoff for the homeside as Jamie Reid kicks out at Collier and only recieves a yellow card.

Chance for the Swifts as a pass falls short and sub Burtons pass falls to Smith and his effort goes narrowly wide.Moments later  Burton again in action beats the offside trap and his cross comes off the bar with no takers in the area.

78 minutes gone and Swifts Jamie Reid is sent off for another late tackle on Danny Ross but before the freekick is taken ref sees an incident involving James Collier and Whitehead on the edge of the penalty box.Ref sends James off for an alledged elbow.When the freekick is eventually taken Rae finds Dale Reid at the backpost with his second headed goal of the game.

84 minutes gone the ref awards the homeside a penalty from a corner kick 4 or 5 players jump for the same ball with the ref deeming an infringement in the area. Holden takes the kick and scores with the keeper going the wrong way 2-2. 

Just as fulltime is nearly up the ref surprisingly awards a freekick to the homeside 12 yards from goal keeper holding on to the ball too long in the area. After the lengthy protests Mackie steps up with the Roselea players all on the goal line his powerful shot hitting the crossbar and then going out of play.

A great battling performance today and with a bit more luck could have had the 3 points for the second time away from home this season.
