MONTROSE ROSELEA V DUNDONALD BLUEBELL

MCBOOKIE.COM EAST PREMIER LEAGUE

SAT NOV 14TH 2015

Roselea finally lost their undefeated league home record to an impressive showing by Dundonald.

Dundonald created the first chance of the match when Anthony beat a man to create space for a shot but his effort went wide of the post.

The home team took an unexpected lead after 17 minutes. The ball was played up the park by keeper McLeod and as an away defender tried to knock it back to his keeper, WATSON anticipated well to gather the ball round their number one and stroke the ball home.

Dundonald scored a terrific equaliser after 31 minutes. ANTHONY showed great skill to leave Thompson off balance and he took advantage of the space he'd created for himself by smashing the ball into the top left hand corner.

The away team nearly took the lead a minute later when Young shot just wide when gifted an opportunity to shoot.

If Roselea felt themselves fortunate to have not conceded with that they were doubly lucky to not concede just moments later. Meikle made a great run into the box and cut back for Wallace who scuffed his shot wide of the post from just 5 yards out.

Although Dundonald appeared on top Roselea were consistently showing they posed a threat at the other end. A long free kick from Rae was knocked down to Collier who's shot was well saved by the away keeper.

YOUNG put Dundonald Bluebell in the lead on the stroke on half time when he beat the offside trap and toe poked past McLeod.

Roselea came out for the second half fully committed to getting a leveller and they did just that just 2 minutes into the half. Mowatt took a deep corner which found the diving head of WHYTE who rocketed the ball into the roof of the net.

Cruickshank almost gave the 'Lea a lead a minute later when. Campbell's cross found him at the back post but his header shaved the top of the crossbar.

Dundonald were beginning to show their class and took the lead after 64 minutes. Meikle found YOUNG who's powerful shot found the net despite the best efforts of McLeod to keep the ball out.

Meikle was fouled in the box to win a penalty for Dundonald. The spot kick was poor as McLeod made the save with his legs before gathering.

Tringham replaced Watson with 20 minutes to go.

McDowell had had a good game in midfield and was unlucky not to get an equaliser after 75 minutes when his shot went just wide of the post.

Dundonald killed the game off when they won another penalty. YOUNG stepped up this time and made no mistake to give the away team a two goal cushion.

Roselea made 2 subs as Greig and Smith replaced Thompson and Mowatt but neither could have any real impact as Dundonald kept possession well to see the match out.

Despite the defeat, Roselea will believe there is still continual improvement in their performances of late which will hopefully stand them in good stead for next weekends crucial fixture away to Forfar West End. This match kicks off at 1.45pm
