Posted by Ray Evans on Mar 05 2013 at 04:00PM PST

The Falcons have been a little short on offense this year so far, but were able to put together an offensive attack that included 10 hits, 9 runs and a long homerun by Andres Visbal to beat the Colts 9-1.

Freshman Eric Rivera and Andres Visbal both had 3 hits and scored 3 runs on the evening. The Falcons took the early lead in the 1st inning when David Sarmiento hit a bases loaded line drive single driving in two runs to make the score 3-0. In the 2nd inning the Falcons struck again when Visbal drove in 2 runs with a sharply hit single down the 1st base line to make the score 7-1. Visbal hit his 1st homerun of the year, a 2 run shot to right center in the top of the 6th to solidify the victory at 9-1, giving him 4 RBI's on the night.

On the mound, Chris Rodriguez (1-1) pitched 5 solid innings giving up 1 unearned run on 6 hits while striking out 7. Kharlin Sued came in to pitch the final two innings. Sued didn't give up a hit and struck out 2 in two innings of work to keep his ERA spotless at 0.00.

The Falcons (6-2, 3-0) will travel to West Broward for a District Matchup with the Bobcats on Friday, March 8th. The game is scheduled to start at 3:45.
