The team made it to the Regional Finals that year, one step short of making it to the State Final Four. Maristany was voted to the Broward County All-Star game as well as the State All-Star game.

Maristany went on to play at Jackson State Community College in Jackson, Tennessee and hit .420 as a sophomore. He then went on to play at Union University where he hit.330 as a junior and .360 as a senior. He was awarded the conference's Gold Glove award while playing 3rd base his senior year. After he finished his eligibility Maristany stayed on as a Graduate Asst. Coach for the next two years while finishing his degree. He worked with the infielders as well as the hitters. Union University won back to back conference championships during Maristany's tenure as the Graduate Asst. Coach.
