Falcons Scalp Chiefs 17-3

Flanagan tuned up for their upcoming California trip by pounding Cardinal Gibbons this afternoon 17-3. The Falcons jumped out 5-0 in the 1st inning when Nick Navarro doubled to leftcenter scoring Jesse Mesa. Rolando Gomez would score on a RBI single by Joel Carranza extending his hit streak to 18 games. DJ Swatscheno capped the inning with his 3rd home run of the season, a 3 run rocket linedrive to left centerfield. Flanagan would go on to score 4 runs in the 2nd, 3 runs in the 3rd, 4 runs in the 4th and 1 in the 5th. Navarro went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI, Mitch Massard was 3 for 3 with 2 RBI and Chris Connelly went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 runs scored. David Thomas(4-2) picked up the win in relief of RJ Fondon. Flanagan leaves for Placentia, California on Friday to compete in the Phil Nevin National Classic.
