Noel Figueroa Assistant Coach - Hitting, INF

                 Noel Figueroa enters his 12th season as the Falcons Hitting/Infielders coach. Figueroa, who is highly thought of as one of the best hitting instructors in South Florida, worked his magic the past 10 seasons here at Flanagan. In 2006 his influence guided the Falcons to improve on all the major offensive categories on their way to a 2nd consecutive State Title. In 2007 his involvement with the hitters influenced a State record 54 Homeruns for the season as the offense guided the Falcons to a 3rd straight State Tournament appearance. In 2010, the magical National Championship year, the team won a 3rd State Title and hit 26 Homeruns with a .365 team batting average and a .466 on base percentage. In 2011 the Falcons hit .417 as a team with an on base percentage of .512. They also hit an impressive 48 Homeruns.        

              Coach Figueroa started his career as an assistant at Miami-Dade North Community College in 1986 where he worked under legendary coach Demie Mainieri. He coached at Dade North for the Falcons for 2 seasons. He left coaching to pursue other venues before returning to the high school ranks in 1995. He served as the Head JV Coach at Hialeah High for 1 season and guided the young T-Breds team to a 14-4 record. The next season he was named the Head Coach at Miami-Southwest Senior High and quickly built a power in South Dade. In 4 short seasons, Figgy compiled a 71-41 record guiding the Eagles to 2 District Titles, a District runner-up and a Regional Championship in 1999, where the team made their 1st State Final Four appearance. Coach Figueroa has been working as a private hitting instructor the past 8 years.

                A 1981 graduate of Carol City High School, Figueroa went on to play his collegiate ball at Miami-Dade Community College. He led the team in batting as a freshman with a .346 average. He continued his education at St. Thomas University in Opa Locka, FL. He hit .311 as a junior and .370 as a senior. He left St. Thomas owning 8 school records. Noel went on to play 1 season of professional baseball in 1985 for the independent Miami Marlins of the Florida State League.

            Coach Figueroa brings a wealth of knowledge having played at such a high level of competition throughout his career. Flanagan has elevated their success with the addition of a top notch hitting coach. Noel is currently employed by the Broward County Public School System as an English / ESOL teacher at Flanagan. He is entering his 27th year overall as a teacher in South Florida. Coach Figueroa has 2 sons Max (26) and Matthew (24). He currently resides in Pembroke Pines with his fiancée Xochilt Gadea.
