Posted by Ray Evans on Feb 27 2015 at 04:00PM PST

The Falcons went on the road and beat the McArthur Mustangs 14-0 in a district contest Friday night. The game was stopped after 6 innings due to the 10 run mercy rule. Although the Falcons scored 14 runs and indicates a lot of offense, the night belonged to Falcon pitcher, Dylan O'Connell.

O'Connell pitched 5 scoreless innings, giving up 2 hits while striking out 11 and yielding 1 walk.  Dakota Doyle came into the game in the bottom of the 6th to close it out. Doyle had 1 strike out and 1 walk in the inning.

The Falcons only got 6 hits on the evening as most of the runs came due to errors on the part of the Mustangs defense. There were some bright spots though as Mark Vientos and Peter Moforis both had 2 hit performances.

Vientos went 2-5 with 2 RBI's while Moforis went 2-4 with 1 RBI. Eddie Schissler had 2 RBI's on the night as he went 1-2 with a walk.

The Falcons (5-2, 2-0) will take on the Miramar Patriots at home on Tuesday, March 3rd at 6:30pm.
