Charles W. Flanagan High School Baseball

A lone earned run scored scored in the top of the first inning was all American Heritage starter Alex Siebold would need, as the Patriots defeated the Flanagan Falcons, 1-0, to win the 2010 Falcons OTS/Nike Challenge.  Falcons starter Pichi Torres (1-1), bouncing back from a scary beanball to the face just 48 hours earlier, was brilliant himself, scattering 7 hits in 6 innings, while striking out 8 and walking none.  However, the Falcons offense had a tough time getting anything going off the crafty Siebold, as only Ricky Santiago (1-2, BB) and David Gonzalez (1-2) managed singles off the sophomore righthander.  The Falcons struck out 12 times and only had one baserunner reach second base in the 1 hour, 45 minute contest.

The Falcons move to 2-1 in the young season and wait for the Coral Springs Colts to come visiting at 6:30pm on Tuesday, 2/23.
