Thomas Throws Complete Game In 4-1 Win Over Taravella Trojans

Posted by Jose Jimenez on Apr 20 2009 at 05:00PM PDT

The Flanagan Falcons moved to 21-3 on the season after a complete game pitching performance from senior righthander David Thomas in a 4-1 road victory against the Taravella Trojans on Tuesday night.  Thomas (6-0) scattered six singles, allowing an earned run, while striking out eight and walking only one.

The Falcons got two runs in the top of the first after a pair of solo home runs from Collin Martindale (1-3, 2 R, RBI, HR, BB) and Justin Frias (1-4, R, RBI, HR).  After Taravella picked up their only run in the bottom of the third inning,  Pichi Torres (1-4, 2 RBI, 2 SB) would give Thomas and the Falcons some insurance in the top of the fifth with a 2-run single to drive in Martindale and Ricky Santiago (2-4, R, 2B, SB).

The Falcons complete their regular season at home on Wednesday night, 4/22, against the Pembroke Pines Charter Jaguars at 7pm.  This game is Senior Night for the Falcons and all fans are encouraged to arrive early as the 2009 graduates are recognized in a pre-game ceremony beginning at approximately 6:30pm.
