Falcons Sweep Broward-Herald Baseball Awards

The Broward-Herald All Sports Breakfast was held on Friday morning at 8:30am. Flanagan was well represented as the baseball program swept all 3 top awards.

Junior lefthanded pitcher R.J. Fondon was named the Broward Pitcher of the Year after posting a 10-1 record and a 1.85 ERA.

Senior RF/C Joel Carranza was named the Broward Player of the Year with a County leading .514 batting average. He had a Flanagan record 27 game hitting streak which included 11 doubles, 1 triple, 9 home runs and 35 RBI.

4th Year Head Coach Ray Evans was named the Broward Coach of the Year for the 3rd time guiding his program to the Class 6A State Tournament for the 3rd consecutive season. The Falcons set a State Record 54 home runs in 2007. Flanagan has won 3 District Titles, 3 Regional Titles and 2 State Titles in Evans' 4 year tenure.  image
