Mustangs 15 - Marios 1

Mustang lefty Bill Knute celebrated his birthday with three home runs and seven RBI to lead the 5-0 Mustangs past Mario’s Restaurant, 15-1. Paul Ligouri pitched tremendously for the Mustangs, giving up only one earned run. Shortstop Paul Selfrige turned a great double play on a feed from Dan Crogan to stop an early Mario's rally. In addition to making two outstanding plays at second base, Mustang Mark Cusano hit a walk off two-run homer to nail down the Mustangs 5th straight mercy rule win. Other Mustangs who chipped in with three hits apiece were Jim Ward, Jay Dolan, and Don Cusano (home run, 3 RBI).

Floral Arts 4 - Healy Oil 2

Home runs by Floral Arts' Roger Whittlesey and Healy's Joe Ingalls were the only signs of life for two otherwise listless offenses. Both Frank Lancelotta for Floral and Mike Martin for Healy pitched exceptional games, each getting an abundance of weak fly outs. Aggressive base running by Jon Haslam caused an errant throw that allowed him to score the eventual winning run late in the game.

Floral Arts 12 - Mario’s Restaurant 8

The middle of the lineup powered Floral Arts to 12-8 victory on Wednesday as Jim Peloquin (3-3, 2 HR, 5 RBI) and Simon Tripp (2-2, HR, 2 RBI) provided the offense, and Larry Mardany shut Mario’s down in the last two innings to preserve the win. All told, Floral pounded out 18 hits and would have done more damage if not for some solid defense from Mario’s. Than Nguyen and Dave Batchelder each hit homers and had multiple hit games to pace Mario’s. Brian Collamore (3 for 3) and Tony DeAntonis (double and RBI) contributed, while Nguyen pitched another strong game as he has settled into the primary pitcher role.

Mustangs 16 - Healy Oil 11

The Mustangs squeaked out a hotly contested 16-11 win over long time rival Healy Oil behind Paul Ligouri's pitching and Mark Cusano's two hits (Including a home run a 5 RBI). Other Mustangs who chipped in two hits apiece and at least one RBI were Jay Dolan, Jim Ward, Don Cusano, Craig Smith, Dan Crogan, and Chris Jordan. Mustang outfielder Jim Ward made an outstanding inning ending sliding catch late in the game with the tying runs on base to preserve a two run lead. Healy Oil’s David O’Keefe, usually known for putting out fires, was ablaze at the plate, hitting two home runs, knocking in five, but was kept from doing more damage when he was pitched around in his final at-bat.

Short Cut Landscaping 19 - Pro Sports Therapy 4

SCL pounded out 6 home runs to overwhelm Pro Sports Therapy, who were limited to 4 runs on just 6 hits. Mike Gross hit two half way to Groton to lead SCL.
