2022 Majors World Series Champions - North Charleston, SC

Nashville, Tennessee………July 27, 2022……… North Charleston, South Carolina (6-1) defeated Southland, Louisiana to capture the 2022 Majors World Series. The title for North Charleston, SC is their tenth in the Dixie Majors division that began play in 1974. The squad from North Charleston dropped their second game of tournament play to Hernando, Florida by a score of 6-4. Following the loss, the bats from North Charleston came alive as the team scored a total 59 runs in their final five games. Overall in seven games, North Charleston scored 70 runs for a per game average of 10 runs while giving up a total of 30 runs. Southland, LA (4-2), the tournament finalist, displayed strong pitching and a solid defense in giving up a total of nineteen runs overall. Prior to the championship game, the Southland, LA team had allowed only nine runs. Camden, Arkansas had a great tournament run in reaching championship day as they reeled of three consecutive wins before dropping their final two games. Twin Cities, Tennessee was awarded the “Bryant Watson Sportsmanship Award.”

Plans are already underway for the 2023 Majors World Series to be held in North Charleston, SC.”
