Week 10 Roundup 

Mustangs 21 - Floral Arts 6 (7 Innings) 

The first-place Mustangs outplayed second-place Floral Arts in every aspect of the game on Tuesday, winning 21-6. Mustangs pitcher Don Cusano (5 for 5, three homers, six RBIs) and the sure-handed shortstop Paul Selfridge (4 for 5, two home runs, and five RBIs) were a potent 1-2 punch in the middle of the line up. Bill Knute hit a home run for the winners and made several great plays in the field. Mike Kennedy and Paul Ligouri each chipped in with three hits and two runs scored. Jim Ward set the table for the Mustangs from the leadoff spot with four hits, three runs scored, and two RBIs. 

Willis Tent 11 - PST 10 

Willis Tent scored early on PST and then held on in the face of a furious rally in the bottom of the 7th to defeat PST, 11-10. Jerry Cressman (two home runs, three RBIs) and John Bodi (3 for 3) were big contributors for PST.  

Mustangs 13 - Willis 0 

The undefeated Mustangs pushed their record to 15-0 on Sunday night with a 13-0 win against Willis Tent. Don Cusano hit his 17th home run of the season en route to a 3 for 3, three-RBI night. Mustangs Mike Kennedy, Jim Ward, Jay Dolan, Bill Knute, Jay Lincoln, and Paul Selfridge each had two hits. Chris Jordan made two fine catches near the right field fence.   

Floral Arts 13 - PST 9 

Floral Arts rode Jim Peloquin's three home runs to a 13-9 win over PST. Simon Tripp also contributed a solo home run as Floral Arts took command of a seesaw battle late in the game. Mark LeFebvre had two clutch hits for the winners. Keith Davighi (home run and four RBIS) and Jerry Cressman (4 for 4) were highlights in PST’s 18-hit attack.

Short Cuts 14 – Drew Farms 8
 

It was a back-and forth battle for six innings before Short Cuts pulled away in the seventh inning to beat Drew Farms, 14-8. Pat Pawlak and Todd Shepherd each hit home runs for Drew Farms. Mark MacLeese (3 for 3), Tom Menicci and Matt Chamberlain (each 2 for 2), Gary Lavelle (two doubles) and Scott Cole (triple) were key contributors. Jason Goldtwaite made an impressive over-the-shoulder catch in the early innings.
