This game was originally started on May 24, but was suspended in the bottom of the 2nd inning due to rain with the Angels leading 7-0. The Angels were able to squeeze out one more run in the bottom of the 2nd to take a commanding lead and then held off the Royals for an 8-5 victory.

To their credit, the Royals were undeterred by the 8-0 deficit and took advantage of a few errors by the Angels for a 5-run 3rd inning. From that point on, it was all pitching and defense for both sides, with Ryan Koehler (Royals) and Nolan Bakst (Angels) quieting the bats the remainder of the game.

Despite the loss, the Royals finished in second place in the AL with a 7-5-2 record, marking their first winning regular season since 2017. The Halos finish strong with the win and check in at 3-11.

PITCHING:
Royals: Nolan Zelch (1.1), Ryan Koehler (4.2).
Angels: Michael Wondolowski (2), Nolan Bakst (5 IP, 1 ER). Koehler retired 14 of 15 batters he faced. Wondolowski with 2 shutout innings.

BATTING:
Royals: Nate Vitarisi 2 (double, RBI), Avery Koehler.
Angels: Teddy Palm, Gus Mekhitarian, Aguillar (RBI single), Jack Currier (RBI single), Shane Stuart (2-RBI single).

FIELDING:
The Angels' Teddy Palm with 5 putouts from shortstop.
