The varsity dance team had an excellent week at UDA camp, learning the most challenging routines (three total) ever taken on and receiving blue ribbons on all of them. They had a record number of All-Americans at camp as well, which means these students all took on an additional solo routine and passed their evaluation: Neeley Delamata, Megan Hauck, Haley Park, Maria Leitao, Lauren Arnold-Wahler, and Jodi Sniffen. They also had more All-Americans than many other schools and earned more awards than any other school. At the end of camp, they had received a superior for having all blue ribbons, the Drill-Down award for best average in a daily precision exercise, and a bid to the national dance team competition in February. We are most proud that for the third year in a row, they won the 110% Award, being chosen over every other team at camp as the team that gave the most effort and was most dedicated to success. It was a huge week for the Lakerettes that has changed how they will approach the 19-20 season!

A big congratulations to our very own Juilliard Curriculum Specialist, colleague, and friend, Brian Drye, for his performance in Hadestown that earned 14 nominations and 8 wins, including Best Musical, at the 73rd Tony Awards! In 2016, Brian made his theatre debut, performing trombone in the cast of Hadestown at the New York Theatre Workshop.
