Free Clinic Dec. 22

You certainly don't need another reason to get your kids signed up for the 2019 season of Hilltoppers baseball, but you'll want to take advantage of signups on either December 15 or 19, so your child can join in our FREE clinic on Saturday December 22.

Longtime Hilltopper Kyle Holder, who was a first round draft choice of the New York Yankees in 2015, will be leading our clinic that day. The clinic willl run from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, but is only open to kids 7 or older who have already registered for this coming season. Players will get a chance to receive instruction in a variety of areas: hitting, throwing, fielding, running and pitching. A number of other Hillltopper alumni will be hellping as instructors on that day, and it promises to be a memorable experience for all the kids who participate.

Holder, who began as a Hilltopper in T-Balll and went on to play a dozen years in our league, moved on to University City High School, followed by a stellar career at USD, where he was drafted following his Junior season. Advancing through the Yankees farm system, Holder finished last season with Double-A Trenton. Two years ago, he was named the top defensive shortstop in all of Minor League Baseball.

Don't miss the chance for your child to join our clinic on December 22. Get signed up December 15 or 19!

Same Bat Rules As 2018

Posted by Ken Cicalo at Dec 7, 2016 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Don't Buy A Bat Until You Read This

If a new bat is on your baseball player’s wish list, there are some important things you may want to think about before making your purchase this year.

Beginning on January 1, 2018, Little League began using a new standard established by USA Baseball, and the previous rules will no longer be the standard for Little League-approved baseball bats. Baseball bats with the new USA Baseball label are available in stores now, for use in 2019, and any bats that were legal prior to 2018 will not be allowed for use in 2019.

All of our teams this coming season will have at least one legal "team bat" provided by the league, so no parent should feel obligated to buy their child a new bat, but if your son or daughter is going to have their own bat, you do need to ensure it's legal for use.

For more information on the new bat standard, and to know if your bat will be allowed, visit LittleLeague.org/batinfo.
