Have you made your plans yet for our 50th Anniversary weekend? March 4-5, 2006 will bring together 50 years of fun and excitement into one weekend. It all starts with the biggest and best Opening Day ceremonies Hilltoppers have ever seen on Saturday morning, March 4th. It continues that day with the first ballgames of the 2006 season, and then is highlighted by our huge 50th Anniversary banquet that evening. Then the weekend is capped off with an old-fashioned picnic for Hilltoppers families of all ages on Sunday the 5th. We have special guests, celebrities and countless surprises planned during our ceremonies on Saturday. Bring your cameras, because some of these festivities will find treasured places in your photo albums. We'll be serving a delicious BBQ lunch catered by Outback Restaurant, and there will be music, prize drawings and fun activities for kids of all ages. And you might just be on TV. KUSI-TV's morning news is planning to telecast live from our fields that morning, with meterologist Dave Scott showcasing all the fun of Clairemont Hilltoppers' 50th Opening Day. Our banquet at the Holiday Inn on the Bay is going to feature a delicious dinner, a live band, more special guests, an amazing display of Hilltoppers memorabilia, a silent auction filled with prizes you won't want to pass up, a spectacular video show, and some very special awards. Banquet attendees will also receive some special souvenirs sure to become lifelong keepsakes. On Sunday, we will be back at Cadman Park for a family picnic, and a chance to catch up with friends old and new. Bring your lunch, bring the kids and hang out at the park with your Hilltoppers family. We will also feature the first Majors and Juniors division games of the season that afternoon. We don't want anyone to miss out on the excitement of this weekend. Banquet tickets are only $35 each, but go up to $45 after February 25. You can download the order form in the handouts section below, or purchase them at the field on any Saturday through Feb. 25. Rooms at the Holiday Inn on the Bay are also available at a special group rate. Contact the hotel and let them know you are part of the Clairemont Hilltoppers 50th Anniversary celebration to receive this special rate. Be sure to get your limited edition 50th Anniversary souvenirs, as well. We have everything from stickers and seat cushions, to travel mugs and t-shirts. All are in limited quanitites, however, and we plan no re-orders. Don't miss out on a collectible you'll use for years to come.
