  District 4 – History   

District 4 was formed as one of the original New Jersey Districts in 1958. Following the disbanding of District 3 in 1981, the remaining District 3 leagues were placed in District 4.  

Teams listed in bold won the New Jersey State Tournament.

District 4 Little League (Major League) Champions: Dumont

Dumont then played in the Section 1 Tournemant hosted by District 4 at New Milford Little League's John Connelly Field. Dumont played for championship, but lost an extremely exciting game to an outstanding Sparta Team.

Dumont's Section 1 Results: 

            Game 1 on 7/20 - Dumont lost to Morristown 3-0
                 Game 2 on 7/21 - Dumont defeated Wayne 7-3
                 Game 3 on 7/22 - Dumont defeated Morristown 5-2

       Montvale also went on to become the Section 1 - 11yr old Champions.
