EFA, Horseheads boys earn top seeds for soccer sectionals Star-Gazette October 19, 2006 The Section 4 boys and girls soccer tournament brackets were announced Wednesday, with the Horseheads and Elmira Free Academy boys teams earning top seeds. Horseheads (12-2-2) drew a first-round bye in Class AA and plays a home semifinal game Oct. 27. In Class A, EFA (7-6-3) also has a first-round bye and will play a semifinal game Oct. 27. Corning is the No. 5 boys seed in Class AA and opens against No. 4 Union-Endicott at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at U-E in the quarterfinals. Southside is the No. 5 boys seed in Class A and travels to Maine-Endwell at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday for a quarterfinal game. Watkins Glen is the No. 9 boys seed in Class B and plays at No. 8 Trumansburg at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. In Class C boys, No. 3 Spencer-Van Etten gets a first-round bye, then plays the Southern Cayuga/Union Springs winner at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at a site to be determined. Second-seeded Notre Dame plays Oxford or Walton at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 27. Odessa-Montour, seeded second among Class D boys, will play the Edmeston-Downsville winner in a quarterfinal game at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at Union-Endicott.
