Bulldogs Beat Chiefs 3-1

(Lexington, MA) Ryan Boyle hit a two run homer and Brendan Albert and Andrew Croteau had doubles when the Reading Bulldogs knocked off the Chiefs 3-1 in Lexington on Thursday night.

Starter Brendan Flynn (1-0) got the win while Greg Gentle went the final three innings to record his second save.

Tim Dunphy (2-2), who went four innings, took the loss. Paul Frisoli and A.J. Rourke each threw a shutout frame for the Chiefs.

Nick Valdario had three of the Chiefs eight hits and Andrew Caulfield added two hits including a double and RBI.

The Chiefs are back in Lexington tonight at 8:00 PM to face the Blue Sox in the only ICL game on the Friday slate. On Sunday they travel to Morelli Field in Melrose to meet the Americans at 4:00 PM.

Bulldogs Edge Chiefs, 3-2

(Malden, MA) Gabe Van Emon (2-0) struck out nine and allowed just two hits in five innings when the Reading Bulldogs edged the Chiefs 3-2 at Maplewood on Monday night.

Van Emon outdueled the Chiefs’ Josh Desai (pictured) who didn’t allow an earned run and also struck out nine in his six innings.

Graham Seed had a double and two hits for Reading while Andrew Caulfield and Ryan Noone drove in the Chiefs’ runs.

The Chiefs are off until Thursday when they visit the Reading Bulldogs in Lexington at 7:00 PM.

Americans Beat Chiefs in 4-3 Walk-Off

The Melrose Americans broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the seventh inning to walk-off with a 4-3 win over the Chiefs at Morelli Field on Wednesday night.

Cory Bright and Pat Costigan led the Americans’ nine hit offense with three hits each. Nick Valdario had three of the Chiefs’ nine hits.

Bobby Tramondozzi (1-0) pitched the seventh inning and picked up the win in relief of starter Chris Mitchell (4.1 innings) and Ryan Joyce (1.2 innings).

Cal Carroll (0-2) worked the final 2.2 innings and took the loss. Chiefs’ starter Evan Walsh went the first four innings for the visitors.

Blue Sox Handle Chiefs 6-3 in Lexington

(Lexington, MA) Chris Aufiero’s two run triple was the big hit in the four run second inning when the Blue Sox knocked off the Chiefs 6-3 in Lexington on Tuesday night.

Aufiero scored his second run in the fourth and Cam Meyer doubled to drive in the Blue Sox sixth run.

Robbie Cobb (2-0) pitched three innings in relief of Ryan O’Rourke, giving up one hit and a run, to earn his second win. Manny Delcarmen worked the seventh to earn his first save of the year.

Chiefs starter Josh Desai (0-1) took the loss.

Adam Johnson, David Lightbody and Nick Valdario drove in the three Chiefs runs.

The Chiefs stay on the road when they travel to Morelli Field in Melrose to meet the Americans tonight at 7:30 PM.
