Malden, MA- Veteran Juan Parra’s one out solo homer in the bottom of the seventh inning tied it and John Bapista’s single in the eighth won it when the Chiefs beat the Lexington Bulldogs 6-5 in dramatic fashion at Maplewood on Wednesday night.

Parra (pictured) drove in three of the Chiefs runs in the game and Bapista had two hits and two RBI’s.
Teddy Dziuba and Ryan Noone each contributed two hits to the Chiefs 14 hit offense.

Lefty Josh Desai went the first six innings, striking out nine, before giving way to AJ Rourke (1-0) who worked two scoreless frames to chalk up the win.

The now 2-1 Chiefs are back in action on Saturday at 12 noon when they meet the Malden Maddogs in the annual Jerie DeAngelis Day of Baseball at Lexington High.

Expos Deal Chiefs First Loss, 10-4

Malden, MA- The Sabertooth Expos won their second straight game when they beat the Chiefs 10-4 on Monday night at Maplewood.

Matt Consigli and Ryan Cloutier both homered to lead the Expos offense.

The Expos’ pitching trio of Zack Kirby (3 inn), Bladamir Ramirez (1-0, 2 inn) and Cloutier (2 inn) combined to strike out a dozen batters.

Andrew Caulfield, Ryan Noone, Nate Witkowski and Luis Tejada drove in the Chiefs’ runs.

Tim Dunphy (1-1), went the first three innings for Chiefs and took the loss.

The (1-1) Chiefs are back in action on Wednesday night when they host the Lexington Blue Sox at Maplewood starting at 8:00 PM.

Malden, MA- Veteran lefty Tim Dunphy (photo) went four innings to pick up his 60th career win for the Chiefs, and Teddy Dziuba and Andrew Caulfield each homered and drove in three runs to lead the Chiefs to their 11-4 opening night win on Thursday at Maplewood.

Dunphy didn’t allow an earned run and struck out four batters.

Tyler Ferdinand, Ryan Noone, and Miles Reid each contributed two hits to the Chiefs ’ 13 hit attack.

Josh Desai (2 innings) and Diego Bravo (1 inning) also worked for the Chiefs.

The Chiefs will host the Sabertooth Expos on Monday at Maplewood starting at 8:00 PM.

Malden, MA- The Chiefs will open their 2023 campaign on Thursday, June 1 against the Malden Maddogs at Maplewood at 8:00 PM.

(MELROSE, MA). – The 2022 season came to an abrupt end this evening as the Chiefs fell to the Middlesex Expos, 3-0 in the deciding game three of the Intercity League semifinals. The Expos will move on to play the Lexington Blue Sox for the crown starting on Monday at 7:45 PM at Morelli Field.

It was a hard-fought contest between the two clubs as the score was 0-0 entering the bottom of the fourth. That is when the Expos belted two home runs, a solo shot from Ryan Stellato and a two run opposite field homer from Idelson Tavares, which accounted for all the scoring.

Chiefs’ starter Evan Walsh kept the them in the contest with five innings of work allowing all three runs on seven hits and striking out four. Paul Frisoli spun a scoreless 1-2-3 sixth with two strikeouts. Offensively, the team saw both leadoff hitter Juan Parra and Tyler Ferdinand each collect two base hits as the team left nine runners on base in the contest.

Expos starter Matt Josselyn went the distance with a complete game shutout, striking out nine.
