New Royal Joins the Farm Team

Posted by Kettering Royals at Aug 21, 2006 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
To all the Royals players, friends, and families:

Baby Luke was born Tuesday at 2:52 PM, and was a stout 8 pounds 15 ounces!! Mom and baby are doing great. And also what perfect timing it was!! This time Dad didn't have to catch grief from all the ladies in the stands for making a baseball game I probably shouldn't have attended... :D

Update, we have been home for a few days now and everyone still feeling good. Luke has his days and night mixed up, but that is to be expected for awhile. Big Brother Eric and Big Sister Haley are both huge helps around the house. Hopefully Luke will make it out to the field for a little bit before we are all done, but if not I'm sure he'll be out hooting and howling at the team party.

See you all at the field,
The Skipperimage

Royals Clinch Playoff Seed

Posted by Kettering Royals at Aug 20, 2006 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Royals took the field Sunday night with a lot of things riding on the game. A win would keep the Royals win streak alive, add to the clubs best record in 6 years, and most importantly the Number 2 seed in the 2006 playoffs. A loss would mean a whole bunch of stuff not yet calculated... :) The Royals faced off against the tough, National Division 2nd place Attack Mules. The game lived up to all the anticipation. The Royals were able to outlast the Attack Mules on the night to pickup the 14-6 victory, full recap and stats to follow, but the victory secured the Royals 14th win of the season and more impressive the #2 seed behind the Woodpeckers. The playoff bracket still has to shake out, but our first game will be Sunday 2 PM @ Rotary Park. Nice work on the season and let's keep the ball rolling.

Former Royals player, Dave "Turrets" Rooker, was quoted in recent media interview regarding his former team:

"Never thought I would see the day. You must have got some good players to be named later when you traded my butt to Seattle. Congrats.

Dave

Royals Stay Undefeated in August

Posted by Kettering Royals at Aug 15, 2006 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Royals stayed undefeated in the month of August with their come-from-behind win Tuesday night over the Angels. The win was also the Royals 4th in a row. That is the longest win streak in Royals history. The Royals have one game remaining in the regular season before the Play-offs begin. The Royals face-off against the National Divisons 2nd place Attack Mules. The Boys in Blue control their own destiny, if they can pick-up yet another "W", their 5th in a row, they can secure the number 2 seed in the playoff bracket. And if they fall to the tough Mules, what a run it has been... Be sure to show up early to get a good seat for this season capper.image

Boys in Blue on a Roll...

Posted by Kettering Royals at Aug 14, 2006 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
After going 4-5 in the month of July, the Boys and Blue have bounced back from back-to-back loses at the end of July to knock out 3 straight wins. This ties the Royals longest win streak since they started the season going 3-0. The Royals have played some tough teams over the last week and a half and the final 2 games will not be any different. Tuesday the Royals face off against the same Angels that a 7th inning rally a week ago only defeated 3-0, and then they cap off the season Sunday against the American Division 2nd place Attack Mules. The Boys in Blue will need to stay focus and reflexes sharp as the playoffs are just a week and a half away. The game Tuesday night against the Angels is at 7:00 PM in the friendly (but don't forget to lock your doors) confines of Kettering Fields. Good Hill seats are still available providing a panoramic view of all of the action. Diamond club seats are running low right behind homeplate. Act now to secure your seat for the action.image

With hard work and solid play the Royals were able to get their 11th win of the season. See the game page for stats and recap. Up next for the Royals is their final divisional game against the Dayton Astros. Game time is 11 AM at Howell Field, field level seats are still available, but act now to be sure you don't miss out.image
