Brazos Valley Renegades Baseball Club

The Brazos Valley Renegades Maroon team run in the 2010 Perfect Game South Qualifier came to an end Monday morning at the Dell Diamond in the semifinals as the Dallas Patriots defeated the Renegades 7-1. The Patriots went on to defeat the Houston Banditos 7-3 in the championship game. The Renegades ended the 32 team event 4-1.

The Renegades advanced to the semifinal game with a 2-0 victory in the quarterfinals over the Dallas Patriots 17 squad. Matt Roberts tossed a complete game 2 hit shutout. Tim Oberhelman and Will Johnson had back to back RBI base hits to plate the only runs of the game in the 3^rd inning.
The Renegades finished pool play at a perfect 3-0, opening the tournament with a 6-4 win over the Houston Rays. Cody Vasquez picked up the win pitching 6 innings and striking out7. Mason Becker tossed a scoreless 7^th inning to pick up the save. At the plate Andrew Brown led the Renegades with a 2 hit 4 RBI performance. Both Scott Jones and Blake Allemand reached base in each of their 3 plate appearances and scored 3 runs while stealing 2 bases apiece.
The Renegades then defeated the Austin Slam 12-0. Matt Smith pitched 4 innings giving up 1 hit and striking out 6. Brady Reed was 2-2 with a triple and 4 RBI. Dusty Palmore reached base 3 times scoring 2 runs and adding an RBI.
The Renegades completed pool play with a 10-0 win over the Dallas Banditos. Mason Becker picked up the win in relief working 1 2/3 innings of scoreless ball while striking out 2. Blake Allemand pitched the final 2 innings. Andrew Brown had 2 hits and an RBI, Matt Smith and Mason Becker each added 2 RBI Basehits
