SAINTS 1 Newburgh Thistle 3
Not one of our better games despite a promising opening 20 minutes when wwe spurned a couple of good chances. Having gone 2-0 down Steve Travers pulled one back with on 80 minutes, but Newburgh got their two goal advantage back a couple of minutes later to take all three points.
Now firmly at the bottom of the table, we need to start picking up some points.
Devin Colbert Back at Milton
Devin Colbert has returned to Saints on loan from Cove Rangers for the remainder of the season. The striker who was with us on a similar loan deal last season scored some vital goals until he was called back up by Cove towards the end of the season.
Let's hope that Devin can get back on the score sheet and turn our season around.
Inverness City 3 SAINTS 1
Despite Saints having the better of the first half it remained goal less at the interval. An early Saints goal in the second half from Jamie Buglass wa surely the catalyst to take full charge, but it was the opposite. We seemed to lose all rythm allowing the home side back into the game and score three times to make it a long journey home from the Highland capital.
SAINTS 2 Inverness City 2 (Inverness win 5-4 on Pens)
A game that should have been won on our first half performance, but if you don't take your chances you can't expect to win games. After taking the lead with a Jamie Buglass goal, City began to take control in the second half going 2-1 up. And it wasn't until the 2nd minute of injury time that Grant Munro snatched the equaliser to send this Regioanl Cup 1st Round tie into a penalty shoot out.
After misses on both sides, we hade the chance on two occasions to win the tie, but both attempts were saved by the Inverness keeper and sadly we lost 5-4 on penalties. Saints scorers were: Grant Munro, Seamus Croll, Jamie Buglass, Steve Travers.
