State Tournament Timetable - 2014

Thursday, March 13th 4:30 to 6:30 pm Weigh-in at BMO Harris Bank Center Friday, March 14th 6:00 to 6:30 am Weigh-in Note: Wrestlers have two consecutive attempts to make weight. Either Thursday night or Friday morning. 10 mats will be used for Sessions I, II, and III (5-Senior, 5-Novice)   Session I 8:00 am Grand March 9:00 am Championship Preliminary Round 12:00 pm (approx.) Championship First Round   Session II 5:30 pm Championship Quarterfinal Round 6:00 pm (approx.) Weigh-ins for second day of competition. Wrestler's receive a one-pound allowance. Weigh-in will end 30 minutes after the conclusion of the final bout of the evening. 7:30 pm (approx.) Consolation First Round Saturday, March 15th   Session III 6:30 to 7 am Weigh-ins for second day of competition. Wrestler's receive a one-pound allowance. Note: Wrestlers have two consecutive attempts to make weight. Either Friday night or Saturday morning. 8:00 am Championship Semifinal and Consolation Quarterfinal rounds     10:00 am (approx.) Consolation Semifinal Round   Session IV 3:00 pm Place Bouts-3rd, 5th, and 7th (8 mats) 5:00 pm (approx.) Parade of Finalist 5:30 pm (approx.) Championship Bouts (2 mats on platform)

State Tournament Information - 2014

The IKWF State Series is governed by the National Federation of State High Schools Associations rules with the exceptions written in our by-laws.
Dates	March 13-15, 2014
Tournament Location	BMO Harris Bank Center 300 N Elm St Rockford IL
Team Eligibility	All teams must be chartered with the IKWF by the postmark deadline of February 1st of each season. A team's primary practice site must reside within the borders of the State of Illinois.
Wrestler Eligibility	Novice and Senior Division wrestlers only (see Divisions). In addition to the regional tournament eligibility requirements and sectional tournament requirements, wrestlers must qualify for the state tournament by: Placing in the top three (3) in their respective weight class. Note: "Unattached" wrestlers are not allowed to compete in the IKWF State Series.
Entry Fee	None Note: Teams will be charged the following rates for scratches: $0, if the IKWF office is notified the Monday prior to the start of weigh-ins. $10, if the IKWF office is notified up to 48 hours before the start of weigh-ins. $20, if the IKWF office is notified between 24 to 48 hours before the start of weigh-ins. $30, if the IKWF office is not notified prior to the start of weigh-ins.
State Tournament Entries	Only sectional qualifiers in the Novice and Senior divisions.  If a state qualifiers does not make weight at the state tournament, his participation in the IKWF State Series has ended.
Team Scoring	Novice and Senior - as defined by the NFHS (see Rule 9 starting on page 44 of your NFHS rule book). Note: If the actions of a coach or wrestler were to cause a deduction of team points in one division, team points will also be deducted from the other divisions as well. Example: Wrestler in the senior division is disqualified from a match for flagrant misconduct - deduct three (3) team points from the team's totals in the senior, novice, and Intermediate divisions.
Bracketing	Novice and Senior - 24-man single elimination bracket with wrestlebacks to 3rd place.  Only wrestlers defeated by the championships semi-finalists are eligible to "wrestleback" in the consolation bracket.
State Pairings Schematic	See Individual State Tournament Pairings on page 30 of the IKWF handbook.
State Pairings	The pairings are drawn at the Kids Open executive board meeting and placed in a sealed envelope. Pairings are revealed on Sunday following the conclusion of all sectional tournaments and will be available on this website.
State Series Participation	If a wrestler is disqualified from any regional, sectional, or state tournament competition for flagrant misconduct (see NFHS penalty chart, page 42 and 43) or forfeits a match in any regional, sectional, or state tournament competition their participation in the IKWF State Series has ended.
Awards	Novice and Senior - medals will be awarded to the top eight (8) place winners and trophies to the top eight (8) teams.
Weigh-in Location and Times	Location: BMO Harris Bank MetroCenter Times: Thursday, March 13th, 4:30 to 6:30pm Friday, March 14th, 6 to 6:30 am Second Day Weigh-in (Wrestlers are given a 1 lb. allowance) Friday, March 14th, Approximately 6:30 pm to one half hour after the conclusion of the last bout of Session II Saturday, March 15th, 6:30 to 7 am Note: Wrestler's will have two consecutive attempts to make weight for each day of competition. They can not attempt Thursday night then Friday morning or, for the second day of competition, Friday night then Saturday morning.
Weigh-ins	All contestants, including those in the 275 lbs. weight class, are required to weigh-in wearing a competition singlet. Each wrestler must make scratch weight. No weight allowance will be given. Wrestlers are given two (2) consecutive attempts to make weight. Upon entry to the weigh-in area, wrestlers may not leave until their attempt(s) have been made.

LP CRUNCHING CAVS Our wrestling season has come to an end, and with that it is time for our annual banquet. This year our banquet will be held on Saturday March 24, at 6:00 p.m. at The Paramount Club 2411 St. Vincent's Ave LaSalle, IL. Wrestlers will be paid for by the club, all additional family members who would like to attend, will cost $11.00 each, Children 10 and under $6.00. This will include your meal and soda.
