Sorcerer Alex Robben Leads Napa High to Victory
Sorcerer Alex Robben scored two homeruns in Napa High's victory.Sorcerer Ashley Decker Profiled in StudentsSportsSoftball.com
Decker stated, "I have always wanted to play in the PAC 10, and after meeting Coach Ninemire and seeing the campus, I wanted to be a Bear."
Decker is the leadoff hitter for Sorcerer Gold.
She continues, "After spending the day with Coach Ninemire, and getting to know her, I felt extremely comfortable and was excited that I was being offered to play for such a great coach. I called Coach Ninemire the day after the visit and accepted her invitation to play at Cal.
Recently, in the Nike Faster To First High School Tournament, Decker was able to meet the Jamia and Elia Reid, Jolene Henderson and Lindsey Ziegenhirt, all future Bears! Sorcerer teammates Alex Robben and Jordan Wallace will be Bears as well.
In the SPARQ testing and the tournament Decker was able to run the best 20yd dash time ever in that event, but settled for 3rd on the overall score. With two years left of high school ball, Decker has the time to take the lead in the testing with a little bit of training!
Decker talked about what Cal has to offer for her in the future. She said, "I feel that playing for Cal will help me get to my dream of one day playing for the USA Team, as well as a College World Series Championship or two!"

Whitney Massey Commits to the University of Wisconsin
Sorcerer outfielder-catcher Whitney Massey has verbally committed to accept a softball scholarship to the University of Wisconsin.
Massey took an unoffial visit to the school earlier this month and was impressed with a number of things. "I really liked the fact that the school is highly-regarded academically, she said. "I loved thecampus; Madison, where the university is located; the energy of the coaching staff and how well I feel I would fit in with the players there."
The Badgers are coached by Chandelle Shulte with Julie Wright serving as recruiting coordinator. Wisconsin is a member of the Big 10 Conference.
"Whitney is highly deserving of this honor," Sorcerer coach Phil Mumma said. "She shows up to every practice with a smile on her face ready to learn and put forth maximum effort. She has improved tremendously since joining us last fall - both as a catcher, working with Kim Fabian, and as an outfielder, working with John Rebstock and Reny Sunga.
The Badgers will be getting an outstanding player, who always plays hard and has a beautiful swing."
Massey attends Everett Alvarez High School in Salinas, CA where she maintains a 3.7 GPA and has earnedall-league honors.
Last summer she played for the Sorcerer 16s, who qualified for ASA Nationals. Wisconsin finished last season with an overall 27-20 record, narrowly missing post-season play.
