Whitney Shaw led her Redwood High School team to victory in the MCAL semi-final.
Alex Robben is Napa’s leadoff hitter and leads the Indians with a .500 average during league play.
All-SCAC first team honors went to Amber Roszkos and Monica Schroll (daughter of former Sorcerer 14U coach Bill Schroll) of Benicia.

Freedom's Hannah Williams took the anger and frustration from an inexplicable defeat last week and turned it into a tidy 2-0 Bay Valley Athletic League win over host Deer Valley on Tuesday.

The junior pitcher fired a two-hitter with seven strikeouts and drove in a run as the Falcons (21-2, 14-1) from Oakley, The Chronicle's No. 3 softball team, clinched a tie for the BVAL title and the league's automatic North Coast Section playoff berth.

Williams gave up a leadoff infield single to hard-luck loser (Sorcerer Gold-Phil) Emily Allard, then retired 19 straight before (Sorcerer Gold-Pete) Shenise Cox reached on another infield hit.

Alex Robben was listed on the All Monticello Empire League team.

Robben led Napa with a .500 average during league play as well as a .586 on-base percentage, .646 slugging percentage and .991 fielding percentage at first base. She picked up eight RBIs as a leadoff hitter and snatched a double and two homers.
