Sorcerer Jordan Wallace Down But Not Out

Saturday, the Fairfield Falcons beat Pleasant Grove (Elk Grove) in the 8th, 5-3. Fairfield trailed with two outs in the bottom of the seventh when Jordan hit a homer over the left-centerfield fence to tie the game. Pleasant Grove scored in the top half of the eighth and with two out Jordan hit a 3-run homer over the right centerfield fence for the win.

In the second game, against St. Mary's (Stockton), Fairfield won 7-4. Jordan was 2-3 with the winning RBI.

Tuesday morning, Jordan came down with strep throat. That night against Franklin (Sacramento), the game was tied 0-0 in the bottom of the seventh. Jordan led off with a walk with the next batters getting a base hit and beating out a bunt. Jordan beat the throw to home on a high chopper to short.

Tonight at 5 PM, Fairfield plays against Elk Grove, who beat Sheldon 4-3 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, Jordan will not be able to play. She was cleated on a pick-off play at first. She has two gashes and the tip of her ring finger torn back with a slice on another finger; the wounds had to be glued back as they could not stitch them. Her hand is splinted and bandaged up. The strep throat is pretty severe -- so she is really bummed out about not playing and not being able to, at least, be with her team.

Check out the bracket.

Sorcerer Alex Robben continued her outstanding offensive performance last night with two hits including a triple to send Napa to the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division I semifinals.
