The North Royalton Bears squeaked past the Riverside Bears, 3-2, in league play Friday, February 7th. Riverside got on the board first, late in the 2nd period but their lead was short lived as Aarron Wynbrandt tied the game just 15 seconds later, his goal was assisted by Branden Walsh and Aaron Schmitt. Branden Walsh scored early in the 3rd assisted by Schmitt and Michael Dzoba giving North Royalton a 2-1 lead with 13:55 to play. The Bears couldn't hold the lead, giving up a breakaway goal to the Beavers with just over two minutes left on the final period and ultimately sending the game to overtime. The Bears wasted little time in the extra period as just a minute in Aaron Schmitt the game winner finishing a feed from Walsh. Tyler Roesch backstopped the Bears win stopping 28 of the 30 shots he faced. The win improves the Bears league record to 11-4 and their overall record to 24-13-1.
