The Trumbull Eagles improved to 9-7-1 with a 7-2 win over New Fairfield HS on Senior Night.  Fittingly, it was the upper classmen that led the way to victory over the Rebels.  Senior, Max Walker had two goals and two assists while Trevor Saggese added a goal and Andrew Vietze had two helpers.  Trumbull's seven seniors, Andrew Vietze, Andrew Pierson, Trevor Saggese, Alex Hyde, Shaun Kennedy, Max Walker and Charles Genster have all played a big part in this season's success.

Miressi Scores Twice as Ice Hockey Wins Thriller Over Worcester 3-2

With the Lancers (7-4-3, 4-3-1 MASCAC) trailing 2-1 entering the final stanza freshman Derek Serbon (Crown Point, IN) sent in the game-tying goal at 13:37 on assists from junior Nick Asterito (Philadelphia, PA) and freshman Mark Owen (Denver, CO).

The Rams (2-10, 2-7 MASCAC) then killed a pair of penalties midway through the period to set up Miressi's late game heroics as he received some help on the breakaway score from sophomore Ben Pacific (Marlboro, Mass.) and first-year Bo Driscoll (Chelmsford, Mass.).

LEADERSHIP

Posted by Coach Gonzo at Jan 4, 2011 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Senior, Andrew Vietze returns as the Trumbull captain for the 2010-2011 season.  Vietze is the first two-year captain since Craig Sliva ('96).  Vietze is an excellent student and always provides the Eagles with a big effort and outstanding defense.

Vietze is joined by alternate captains, Trevor Saggese and Andrew Pierson.  The two seniors are also academic standouts, committed hockey players and represent the THS hockey program well both on and off the ice.
