HALF WAY MARK!
The Eagles will have to dig themselves out of a deep hole if they plan on making the CIAC State Tournament. With a 3-7-0 record at the half way mark, Trumbull needs to find five more wins in their last ten games.
Senior, Grant Vagnone has been solid in net and the return of Rob Fantarella (sr) should help shore up the defense. The play of freshmen Brady Jensen, Reece Sowka and Jake Leibowitz has been cause for optimism and the trio should be even better now that they have ten games on the books. The effort and execution will have to be more consistent and some secondary scoring is desperately needed.
EAGLES END 2013 WITH LOSSES
The Trumbull skaters ended 2013 with two bad losses to two quality D2 opponents. Trumbull was outscored 6-1 by the Milford Indians and then 7-3 by the Branford Hornets. The Eagles will look to rebound as they kick the new year off with some stiff competition. Trumbull needs to find seven more wins to qualify for the CIAC State Tournament and will look to their upper classment to lead the way.

The Eagles opened the 2013-2014 season with two home games. Trumbull jumped out to an early lead versus East Haven (D1) with three first period goals, including a short handed tally from freshman, Brady Jensen. Unfortunately, Trumbull let the Hornets' talented first line get them back in the game with three second period goals of their own. The game ended in a 5-4 loss for the Eagles.
The THS skaters got back on track with a 4-0 win over Watertown (D2) highlighted by Alex Pierne's two first period scores, a perfectly executed power play goal from Matt Sarosky and another short handed goal from freshman, Reece Sowka. Senior defenseman, Andrew Charlton had two helpers.
Trumbull has two tough D2 contests coming up. They will be on the road for Milford (Saturday 12/28) and back home for Branford on Monday 12/30.
