PLAYER OF THE WEEK
It was a busy week for the Eagles as they traveled to NH for the Heuchling Swift Holiday Tournament. There were many worthy performers but Jake Terlik takes home POW honors. While trailing Portsmouth in the third period, the winger drove the boards to get deep into the opposition end where he made a great pass to linemate, Austin Ashby for the game tying fifth goal. Securing the tie put the Eagles in the final against Oyster River where Terlik again came up big. The junior collected a loose puck in front of the net and showed great poise as he got the goalie to bite on a move then potted the game winner in the third period breaking the 2-2 tie.

TOURNAMENT CHAMPS!
The Trumbull Eagles had a successful trip to New Hampshire, winning the Heuchling Swift Holiday Tournament. The Eagles last won the tournament back in 2017.
The Eagles started off with a solid 3-1 win over Keene, NH (D1) followed by a wild 5-5 draw with the Portsmouth Clippers. The final was a well played game by both Trumbull and the tournament hosts, the Oyster River Bobcats. It was a physical game with plenty of skill on display. The game went into the third period locked at 2-2. Jr, Jake Terlik found himself alone in front with puck and undressed the Bobcat keeper for the game winner!
Sr, Adam Guttman was outstanding between the pipes making some huge stops in the final frame of the Keene game and again in the final keeping Oyster River off the board to close out the victory (33 saves). Jr, Giancarlo Montanaro had 2 goals and 3 assists in three games while Sr, Luca Minopoli had 3g and 3a and Sr, Peter Antoniou added 4g and 3a. Defensemen, Zach Jager and Matt Farasciano were solid all weekend with Jager leading the defensive crew with 4 assists. Jr. Jake Terlik scored the game winner in the final and assisted on linemate, Austin Ashby’s (Jr) game tying goal against Portsmouth.
It was a great weekend of hockey at the University of New Hampshire!
