CIAC STATE TOURNAMENT RETURNS TO QUINNIPIAC
EAGLES WIN
Its been a while but the Eagles did win. Six different goal scorers contributed to Trumbull’s 6-3 road win over the Wilton Warriors.. Jack Jaworski, Nikolas Smagacz, Logan Jones, Giancarlo Montanaro, Drew Kaufman and Austin Ashby all tallied for the Eagles. Sophomore, Danny Dedvukaj was solid between the pipes in his second start of the year. Trumbull is now 7-9-0 and looking for one more win to qualify for the CIAC D2 State Tournament.
The Eagles host the Chesire Rams this Saturday at 7:30pm at Shelton Rinks.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
The Eagles were only able to muster two goals this week despite playing three games. Our Player of the Week, Sr. Jacques Roy netted one of those. The winger is a hard worker with good speed and a high compete level. He is not afraid to go hard to the net and battle for loose pucks, which is exactly how he has scored all three of his goals this season.
TOUGH STRETCH
It has been a tough two weeks for the Eagles, dropping five of their last six. Trumbull is now 6-9-0 on the year and is still looking for two more wins to qualify for the CIAC state tournament.
The THS skaters put in solid efforts against three D1 opponents but ultimately came up a little short. They also delivered two head scratchers, outworked in a loss to D3 JBWA and a sloppy performance in an important game vs Westhill/Stamford.
Other than the 6-5 win over Branford, the Eagles have struggled to score goals and their power play has been ineffective.
