Zach Parmer

Posted by Don Hutchins at Nov 14, 2006 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
Zach Parmer is about to finish his first semester at Wofford College where he took the field this fall for the Terriors baseball team. I caught up with the "Big Unit" and got a feel for his start of college in Spartanburg; home of the Wofford Terriors. Q: What classes are you taking this semester? A: Spanish 303; Military Science 101; Chemestry 104 and Racquetball. Q: What is favorite food at school? On campus and off. A: On campus-Chic Fil A. Off campus-Wades Southern Food. Q: How did fall baseball practice go? A: Great. The pitching staffs picture will be with our shirts off to show off our great abs we built for an hour a day this fall. Q: Who is the best player on your team? A: Austin Redwine; RHP. He has been the ace for three years and will most likely be drafted this spring. Q: What surprised you most about college baseball? A: It is not nearly as intense as I thought it might be. The coaches still kid around and have a good time. Q: When does practice start after the holidays and when/who is your first game? A: Practice starts January 5. The first game is home versus Longwood on February 3. Q: Where do you live; who is your roommate and how far do you walk to class? A: Marsh Dorm, room 301. Roommate is Kyle Barnes(not a baseball player) and it only takes 8 minutes to class if I take my time. Q: What about playing for the Panthers best prepared you for the college game? A: Learning to pitch in middle relief the summer before school. foot note: The Wofford coaches asked the Panthers to utilize Zach in that role as much as possible as he projects to be in that role this spring. Q: What do you miss most about being away at school? A: Being able to go to the lake every weekend to fish. Q: How about the girls at Wofford? A: Trying to get me in trouble with Allison aren't you. Good Luck Zach; we look forward to keeping up with you this spring season. Check out earlier Panther interviews at "Panthers Making a Difference". image
